Glutathione Injection
A compounded preparation, not an FDA-approved drug — that is the honest starting point, and it is where most pages in this category start with a promise instead. Here is what the antioxidant actually does, and what we do not claim about it.

What Glutathione Is and What It Does in the Body
Glutathione is not an exotic import. It is the body’s principal intracellular antioxidant — a small molecule made from three amino acids that every cell produces on its own and uses constantly.
Its main job is neutralising the oxidative byproducts of ordinary metabolism, the reactive molecules that accumulate from normal cellular activity, illness, certain medications and environmental exposure. A second, equally important role is in hepatic phase II conjugation — the liver’s process for attaching a molecule to a toxin or drug metabolite so it can be cleared from the body. Glutathione is one of the liver’s principal conjugation partners.
Levels are not fixed. They can be depleted by illness, heavy alcohol use, certain medications, chronic inflammation and simply getting older, which is the physiological rationale for supplementing it rather than any cosmetic one.
That is the honest, mechanism-level description, and it is also the whole of what we claim. Everything below builds on this — nothing above it.
Where Glutathione Appears on the Menu
It shows up four ways, and each one is a different amount doing different work — published ingredients, not published quantities, with one deliberate exception.
01
Detox Drip
The one place a specific quantity is published anywhere on the menu: glutathione 2,000 mg (2 g) IV. Everywhere else on this page, including the injection itself, that number is the exception rather than the rule.
02
Glow Drip
Pairs glutathione with vitamin C. We describe the ingredients; we do not make a cosmetic claim about what the pairing does to your skin — see “What We Do Not Claim” below.
03
Beauty Drip
A five-ingredient formula — B-Complex, biotin, a glutathione booster, B12 and vitamin C. “Booster” is the parent’s own term for a smaller supporting quantity, not a stated dose.
04
Standalone injection
The subject of this page. An intramuscular shot rather than an IV bag, which by the nature of the route delivers a far smaller volume than 2,000 mg — see “Where to Find It on the Menu” below for pricing.
Is Glutathione Injection FDA-Approved? The Honest Answer
Three categories get conflated constantly in this market. They should not be.
FDA-approved
A specific drug, approved for a specific indication, backed by trial data submitted to the agency. Glutathione injection is not this — no glutathione product has gone through that process for wellness or aesthetic use.
Regulated
The ingredient itself is a recognized pharmaceutical substance, and the pharmacies preparing it operate under FDA manufacturing and sterility standards. Regulated is not the same claim as approved.
Compounded
Prepared by a pharmacy for a specific patient or clinic under sterile compounding standards, rather than mass-manufactured as an approved finished product. That is what a glutathione injection is.
What that means here
We will tell you plainly it is a compounded preparation, not an FDA-approved drug. Full regulatory breakdown →
Glutathione: What the Evidence Actually Supports
Graded honestly, because this is a page about an antioxidant rather than a page selling a cosmetic outcome.
Use
Evidence position
What that means for you
Intracellular antioxidant support
Established mechanism
This is what the molecule does in the body — not in dispute
Hepatic phase II conjugation
Established mechanism
A real, recognized role in how the liver clears certain compounds
Skin brightening / lightening
Weak evidence, genuine safety concern
We do not claim it. High-dose IV use for this purpose has drawn a formal regulatory warning abroad — see below
General wellbeing / anti-aging
Not something evidence can speak to
Treat confident claims here with caution
General information about glutathione in clinical use, not a claim about what any of our formulas or injections treat.
“We will tell you what the antioxidant does in the body. We will not tell you it changes your skin tone — that is not a claim we make.”
The line this page is built around
Injection or the Detox Drip's Published 2,000 mg?
Two different routes, and the honest comparison is about the route, not a race to a number.
The injection
An intramuscular shot, given in about ten minutes with no IV line. By nature of the route it delivers a far smaller volume than an infused bag — that is a property of intramuscular dosing generally, not a number we publish for this specific product.
The Detox Drip
A full IV infusion built around glutathione 2,000 mg, the one published per-drip quantity on the entire menu. A longer visit, delivered alongside fluid, and the more direct comparison point if a specific quantity matters to you.
Where Our Glutathione Is Compounded, and Why That Matters
This is the differentiator that actually holds up, because it is checkable.
Ingredients across the injection and infusion menu are sourced from named compounding pharmacies — Strive Compounding Pharmacy and Olympia Pharmaceuticals (L B McLeod) — described as accredited nationwide compounding pharmacies that comply with FDA law. That is a specific, named claim rather than a vague reference to “pharmaceutical-grade” ingredients, which is the most common unverifiable phrase in this category.
What we do not do is classify either pharmacy’s registration status — whether a given facility is a 503A or a 503B compounder is a real distinction, and it is not one we assert without being able to verify it against the FDA’s own list. What sourcing and compounding actually means →
What Getting the Injection Involves
Three steps, none of which include a number we have not published.
01
A history first
Allergies, current medications, kidney and liver history, and what you are actually hoping it will help with. Candidacy is discussed as part of a personalised consultation rather than decided from a form.
02
An intramuscular injection
Given by a registered nurse in about ten minutes, with no IV line and no chair time beyond the shot itself.
03
A conversation about frequency
We do not publish a fixed injection schedule, and no course is right for everyone. How often makes sense for you is a question for the nurse who reviews your history, not a number on this page.
Glutathione Injection Side Effects and Who Should Avoid It
Worth stating plainly rather than burying in fine print.
Reported effects are generally mild: injection-site soreness or redness, and occasional nausea. Rare but serious allergic or respiratory reactions have been reported with glutathione products, which is why screening happens before anything is drawn up rather than after.
At high intravenous doses — the territory this injection does not occupy, but worth naming since it is where documented harm has occurred — effects on the liver and kidneys have been reported, alongside a formal warning from the Philippine FDA specifically about high-dose IV glutathione used for skin whitening. That warning is a meaningful part of why this page does not make a skin-outcome claim.
If you have a history of significant allergic reactions, are pregnant or breastfeeding, or have known kidney or liver disease, say so before booking. Full exclusions →
What We Claim, and What We Do Not
Stated as two lists rather than left to be inferred.
What we claim
That it is the body’s principal intracellular antioxidant, that it plays a real role in hepatic phase II conjugation, that levels can be depleted by illness, alcohol use and age, and that the Detox Drip’s published figure is 2,000 mg — the one quantity on the whole menu we state outright.
What we do not claim
That it lightens, brightens or whitens skin. That it inhibits tyrosinase or melanin production. That it is anti-aging. That it cures or treats any disease. The parent brand’s own pages make some of these claims elsewhere; this page does not repeat them.
Skin-Lightening Claims and Why We Do Not Make Them
This is worth explaining rather than just stating, because it is the single biggest difference between this page and most of what ranks for this search term.
High-dose intravenous glutathione for skin whitening is the dominant commercial angle in this category, and it is also the one carrying real regulatory action. The Philippine FDA has formally warned that the practice is linked to severe skin reactions, kidney effects and thyroid effects. No glutathione product is FDA-approved for this or any cosmetic use in the United States.
None of that changes what glutathione is or what it is offered for here — an antioxidant with a real role in cellular defense and hepatic detoxification pathways. It changes only what we are willing to promise it will do to how you look, which is nothing.
Why a Compounded Injection Belongs Under Supervision
A compounded preparation is only as good as the pharmacy that made it and the clinician deciding whether it is right for you. Every protocol on this menu is approved by our medical director before it reaches a patient, and a registered nurse reviews your history before anything is drawn up.
That is the same standard applied to every injection and infusion on this site, glutathione included.
Medical director: Dr Stephen Jones — board-certified general surgeon since 2016, Northeast Ohio Medical University. Founder and lead nurse: Erica Barshay, RN BSN.
Where to Find Glutathione on the Menu
The standalone injection and the Detox, Glow and Beauty drips are all published with their prices, alongside every membership tier.

Glutathione Injection Questions Lakewood Ranch Patients Ask
No. It is a compounded preparation, not an FDA-approved drug. The ingredient itself is a recognized pharmaceutical substance and it is compounded under sterile standards, but no glutathione product has gone through FDA approval for wellness or aesthetic use.
It is the body’s principal intracellular antioxidant, made by every cell, and it plays a real role in hepatic phase II conjugation — the liver’s process for clearing certain toxins and drug metabolites. Levels can fall with illness, alcohol use, chronic inflammation and age.
We do not claim that. High-dose IV use for skin whitening is linked to a formal safety warning abroad and is not something the evidence or the regulatory record supports, so it is not part of what we offer this for.
We do not publish a per-injection quantity. The one figure published anywhere on the menu is the Detox Drip’s 2,000 mg (2 g) IV — the exception, not the rule. Ask us if a specific number matters to you.
We do not publish a fixed course. How often makes sense depends on your history and what you are using it for, which is a conversation with the nurse rather than a number on this page.
Generally mild — injection-site soreness or redness, occasional nausea. Rare but serious allergic or respiratory reactions have been reported with glutathione products, and at high intravenous doses effects on the liver and kidneys have been documented, which is why screening happens first.
Different tools. The injection is quicker with no IV line and, by nature of the route, a smaller volume. The Detox Drip is a longer infusion built around the one published quantity on the menu. Which suits you is worth asking the nurse rather than assuming.
